Pupienus, 238. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 28 mm, 15.92 g, 11 h), Rome, circa April-June 238. IMP CAES M CLOD PVPIENVS AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Pupienus to right, seen from behind. Rev. PAX PVBLICA / S C Pax seated left, holding branch in her right hand and scepter in her left. BMC 48. Cohen 23. RIC 22a. A lovely piece with a beautiful portrait. Slightly smoothed and the reverse a bit weak, otherwise, good very fine.
